We are Llanelli’s longest-established Funeral Directors and are proud to still be serving the community 76 years after we began trading.
Arthur Cambrey Funeral Directors was founded in 1950 and Mr Cambrey, as he was known by everyone, worked tirelessly for the local community until he passed away in 2012.
We joined Funeral Partners in 2023, the country’s fastest growing funeral network, and marked its three-quarter-century milestone in April last year.
Alison, Mr Cambrey’s daughter, began working in the business in the 1980s and is still available for clients today, although she is working fewer hours to spend more time with her young grandchildren.
She is ably supported by long-serving Funeral Director Karl Jenkins, who started working alongside Mr Cambrey aged just 20, learning the trade under the great man’s expert guidance. After a spell away from the business, Karl returned in 2018 to once again work closely with Alison and support families in need.
Alison explained that she was happy to still be helping the community while maintaining a healthy work life balance.
“I’m still here in the business, albeit a little less than before,” Alison said, “however, if anyone would like me personally to handle their loved one’s funeral arrangements, I will always do my absolute best to help.”
“Karl is also very much still here and doing what he does best-helping families through their difficult moments. I know I can trust him to represent Arthur Cambrey Funeral Directors and the values and traditions we hold so dearly.”
Alison said joining the Funeral Partners network had helped secure the future of the business.
“I want my father’s legacy to be around for many, many years to come and I hope Funeral Partners will ensure that happens. It has helped us massively to be a part of a larger group. We have invaluable behind- the -scenes support, which allows myself and the team to do what we do best – helping our families in their time of need.”
